Course Outline and Costs

Full Courses

 
Level 1 (6 hour)

Aimed at low risk service settings (mainstream secondary/primary schools, nurseries, children’s hospitals, elderly care etc), this course covers personal safety, risk reduction strategies, positive handling, together with documentation and legal guidance.

Participants will receive a course workbook and certificate.

Certification for this course is valid for 36 months.

 

The course is organised into 8 modules:

  • Module 1 –Background to Team-Teach

  • Module 2 –The legal framework

  • Module 3 –Understanding aggression

  • Module 4 –How feelings drive behaviours

  • Module 5 –De-escalation and diffusion

  • Module 6 –Personal safety

  • Module 7 –Positive handling (mainly guiding and escorting safely —  if a greater degree of holding is required please refer to                 the 12-hour Basic Course)

  • Module 8 –Repair, reflection and review

 

 

1 day minimum course cost

  • A minimum of 6 and up to 12 participants -    £84 per person.

  • 12 to 18 participants - £80 per person

  • 19 to 24 participants - £75 per person

The hosting organisation provides the venue, lunch (if required) and refreshments.

Level 2 (12 hour)

Aimed at medium risk service settings (special schools, PRUs, children’s homes, elderly care etc), this course covers personal safety, risk reduction strategies, a range of positive handling and interventions, together with a focus on policy, documentation and legal guidance.

Participants will receive a course workbook and certificate.

Certification for this course is valid for 24 months.

 

The couse is organised into 8 modules:

  • Module 1 – Background to Team-Teach

  • Module 2 – The legal framework

  • Module 3 – Understanding aggression

  • Module 4 – How feelings drive behaviours

  • Module 5 – De-escalation and diffusion

  • Module 6 – Personal safety

  • Module 7 – Positive handling (this section includes guiding, escorting and holding in standing, sitting and kneeling positions, safety techniques will be delivered appropriate to the service group)

  • Module 8 – Repair, reflection and review

 

2 day minimum course cost

  • A minimum of 6 and up to 12 participants -    £166 per person.

  • 12 to 18 participants - £160 per person

  • 19 to 24 participants - £150 per person

The hosting organisation provides the venue, lunch (if required) and refreshments.

Advanced (1 day)

Modules aimed at high risk service settings (special schools, PRUs, secure units, children’s homes, elderly care etc). These modules cover personal safety, risk reduction strategies, a range of positive handling and interventions in response to extreme dangerous behaviour.

**Participants must have a valid Basic Course Certificate.**

Participants will receive a course workbook and certificate.

Certification for this course is valid for 12 months.

  • Advanced ground holds

  • Ground fights and assaults

  • Transport

  • Everyday objects used as weapons:–pool cues–blunt impact objects–sharp and pointed objects–chairs–missiles

 

1 day minimum course cost

  • up to 8 participants £1300

  • up to 16 participants £2500

Level 2 (1 day)

**The candidates must hold a valid and current certificate for the level 2 12 hr Course**

 

1 day minimum course cost

  • up to 12 participants £1000

  • up to 24 participants £1900

Level 1 (3 hour)

**The candidates must hold a valid and current certificate for the Level 1 (6 hr) Course**

 

3 hour minimum course cost

  • up to 12 participants £600
